19 Teams apply for Licences for seasons 2009/10/11

The RFL have confirmed today the teams who have applied for three year licences to be part of the Super league in seasons 2009/10 & 11

The applying teams are:

Bradford Bulls
Catalans Dragons
Castleford Tigers
Celtic Crusaders
Featherstone Rovers
Halifax RLFC
Huddersfield Giants
Harlequins RL
Hull FC
Hull Kingston Rovers
Leeds Rhinos
Leigh Centurions
Salford City Reds
St Helens
Toulouse Olympique
Warrington Wolves
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats
Widnes Vikings
Wigan Warriors

Great to see another French team looking to join in, and if they are anything like the Union set up they will be a force to recon with, presuming they are accepted. The decision on which teams will be successful in taking one of the 14 places, will be known and announced in July.

The criteria they are assessed on will be: Stadium facilities, playing strength and player development, business performance plus marketing and community activity.
