Argentina were made to fight all the way in winning 33-3 against Georgia. At halftime the score of 6-3 to Argentina was a fair reflection of the tenacious tackling, counter ruck and sheer bloody minded play from the Georgians. Argentina had probably 70% possession and territory but could not break through the stout Georgian defence, mainly because they tried to batter through rather than outflank.
The second half and we expected Argentina to spin the ball wide and run Georgia ragged but it was Georgia first out of the blocks putting pressure on the Pumas. The shame was that it was only a matter of time before they would tire and the Pumas would strike and so it was with Hernandez orchestrating and Contepomi distributing they at last broke the Georgian defence. But it was the last minute when the bonus point try was scored.
