Argentina will play Georgia in their first pool ‘D’Â game on the 11th Sep in the Stadium Gerland, Lyon. This will be the first meeting between the two at the Rugby World Cup (RWC) 2007. Argentina having featured in a different pool in the 2003 event.
Argentina Georgia Preview
Argentina having played the 1st tier nations and recorded wins against England at Twickenham in late 2006 are riding high in the IRB rankings. We cannot see Georgia living with them and expect Argentina to run out convincing winners by a margin of more than 20 points. The Puma’s will continue to provide a formidable pack and with Augustin Pichot pulling the strings at scrumhalf and Felipe Contepomi at 10, are an outside bet for the playoffs, though we still see France and Ireland winning through from this pool.
Argentina 33/1
Georgia 5000/1
Updates to this preview will follow closer to the 2007 Rugby World Cup and as odds on the match itself become available we will let you know.
