New Zealand produced a controlled and disciplined display to record a good away Tri-Nations victory against Bledisloe Cup rivals Australia in Melbourne.
Drew Mitchell’s try gave the Wallabies an early lead, but the Melbourne crowd were stunned as New Zealand ran in four times through Dan Carter, Mils Muliaina, Richie McCaw and Cory Jane to lead 32-14 at half-time.
It is just as well Robbie Deans has a full head of hair as he must have been tearing it out as Drew Mitchell went to the bin and then after a referees warning which he chose to ignore was sent off in the second half, Australia’s hopes were ruined.
Australia did win the second half, but it was too little to late as the All-Blacks cruised home. To a final score of:
