Australia meet Japan in the Stadium Gerland, Lyon on the 8th September in Pool ‘B’ of the Rugby World Cup (RWC) 2007 in France. This will only be the second time they have met in the RWC, on the last occasion Australia ran out winners 42-12 during the first RWC 1987.
Australia vs Japan Preview
Australia are one of the dark horses for this RWC, they suffer from a lack of front row and it is unlikely they have resolved the problem in time for France. We still cannot see the Japanese team living with them. Expect Australia to be too strong outside but the Japanese to never give up and go down fighting but by more than 30 points. Look out for George Smith and Phil Waugh causing mayhem again and the new faces in the Australian side Cameron Shepherd, Scott Fava plus Matt Giteau weaving his magic again.
