All Blacks Jersey

New Zealand play their home games in strip comprising black shirts with a silver fern badge, black shorts and socks. The black shirts along with the rest of the strip gave the side their nickname of the All Blacks. However, in 1884, a New Zealand team wore blue jerseys with a gold fern, as this was before the NZRFU was formed many do not consider it was the country colours. The All Blacks have an envied reputation on the world stage and many household names have pulled on the black shirt, with Jonu Lomu and Daniel Carter easily the best known.

The New Zealand Rugby Football Union (NZRFU) was founded in 1892, though rugby had been played in the colony from 1870 when a match between Nelson College and Nelson Football Club was played under rugby rules. The provincial sides that today make up the New Zealand contingent in the super 14's also came into existence before the NZRFU in 1879. New Zealand play their home games at three venues these are; Eden Park, Walters Rd, Mt Eden, Auckland, Westpac Stadium, Waterloo Quay, Wellington and Jade Stadium, Stevens Street, Christchurch.

World Champions in 2011, when they hosted the Rugby World Cup, the Allblacks remain one of the most consistent nations on the world stage spending more time as the IRB number one nation than any other side. They are a feared competitor either home or away and with the strength of their structure and players registered to the national side and released to the super 14's franchises and provincial sides as decreed by the national management they have more flexibility in ensuring the team peaks at the right moment.

Picture History of the All Blacks Shirt

2011 World Cup Winners
Produced to mark the hosting of their second world cup, this jersey paid homage to the All Blacks' history, bringing back the white collar. The All Blacks fittingly met the French in the final in a rematch of the 1987 final, also played at Eden Park, and again the New Zealanders prevailed, hoisting the William Webb Ellis trophy for the second time in their proud rugby history.
2007 Rugby World Cup
The shirt worn by the All Blacks in the 2007 World Cup in France carried on the traditions established at the outset of the adidas deal. The genuine players' jerseys featured advanced technology which provided grip for players being lifted in the lineout, while the fit was streamlined and figure hugging. A genuine shirt features the date of the game, the venue, and the opponent, embroidered in black on the sleeve.
1999 Rugby World Cup
This was the first jersey produced by apparel giant adidas following the shift away from CCC. After much paranoia from the New Zealand rugby public, who feared a drastically different jersey, the shirt was an instant hit. The Chinese-style collar was the most notable change to the shirt which had previously featured a white collar.
1994 Steinlager
The 1994 All Black shirt is significant as it was the first to ever feature a corporate sponsor, bearing the logo of beer manufacturer Steinlager on the front. This jersey formed the template for that worn in the 1995 World Cup, and will also forever be associated with the All Blacks' famous tour of South Africa the following year, when they secured their first ever series win over the Springboks.
1987 World Cup Winners
The jersey worn by the 1987 side as they claimed the inaugural Rugby World Cup was a classically simple design, with a white collar on an otherwise totally black jersey, bearing just the silver fern logo and the words 'New Zealand All Blacks' written under it. Hosting the first ever World Cup, the home side, led by captain David Kirk, defeated France in the final, 29-9.
1905 Original
The 1905 side was the first New Zealand rugby side to be known as the All Blacks, with debate raging about whether the name came from the fact that their jerseys were predominantly black, or whether it came about as a misprint in a newspaper article, where the journalist was so taken by the skills of all 15 men on the field he described them as the All Backs.
