The Bulls are a South African Rugby Union team competing in the Super 15 competition. The team is centred around the Blue Bulls union the Currie cup team (Pretoria plus Limpopo Province), but also draws players from the Falcons (representing the East Rand).Prior to 1998, the Bulls competed in the then-Super 12 as the Blue Bulls.

The Bulls are based in Pretoria and play their home matches at the 50,000 capacity Loftus Versfeld stadium which is also used by the national team. The stadium offers the home side some advantage as it is at altitude effecting players performance and the flight of the ball.

Three out of four Super Rugby tourament victories were achieved by the Bulls in 2007, 2009 and 2010, with victories over the Sharks, Chiefs and Stormers respectively. Prior to those trophies their best Super 12 performance was in the inaugural year of the competition, 1996, when (as the Blue Bulls) they finished third on the table and reached the semi-finals, only to be defeated by the eventual cup winners, the Auckland Blues. They repeated this in the last year of the Super 12, losing to the New South Wales Waratahs. They then lost in the first year of Super 14's again in the semi-finals, this time to the Crusaders.
