Castres home colours are blue and white although the shirt is in fact more blue and black. The shirt has been pulled on by a couple of notable overseas players in Phil Christophers of England and Kees Meeuws of New Zealand. Club honours to date have been French premiership 1949, 1950 and 1993, French cup 1948 and the European Shield 2003.
Castres or Castres Olympique was created in 1906 but the clubs roots go back to a side that was formed in 1898. Castres have spent most of their existence in the top flight of French rugby and coming from the fanatical Midi-Pyrenees this is not surprising.
Castres play their home games in the 9,423 capacity Stade Pierre-Antoine in the city of Castres, Midi-Pyrenees Region of France. Their big local rivals are Toulouse and Biarritz and being in a hot bed of rugby they are always fanatically supported.
