Celtic Crusaders have been taken over by a new company after going into administration last month. W Crusaders Limited has bought the Wrexham-based organisations assets, and moved players onto its payroll in a deal for an undisclosed sum.
The new company is backed by Wrexham Village, the owners of the town’s Racecourse Ground which the club shares with Wrexham FC. The Celtic has been dropped from the new name so the team will be known as Crusaders RL from next season.
The new company has retained everyone who is currently on the payroll and said there are no planned changes. It has also said any season tickets bought prior to the buyout will be honoured.
