Well in a tense tight semi-final in freezing conditions the Chiefs won through against the Hurricanes 14-10. The scores were tied at 7-7 at half time thanks to scores by Nonu for the Hurricanes and Sivivatu for the Chiefs. In the second period although the Chiefs had most of the play they could not shake of the Hurricanes. In fact from a poor kick they managed to break free and skipper Mils Muliaina went over. Donald converted both the Chiefs tries, whilst Weepu converted the Hurricanes try and a penalty in the second half to make the last 20 minutes nerve racking for the home fans.
So the Chiefs are into their first final and at the first time of asking. This gives them either a trip to South Africa or a home game on the 30 May.
