The Clermont Auvergne club colours are yellow and blue based on the colours of the founding fathers company Michelin Tyres. The colours have been donned by some of the top names from the international game such as: Tony Marsh, Philippe Saint-André, Aurelien Rougerie, Olivier Merle, Stephen Jones of Wales and Breyton Paulse of South Africa.
Association Sportive Montferrandaise Clermont Auvergne simply known as Clermont Auvergne is a French rugby union club from Clermont-Ferrand in Auvergne. The club was founded in 1911 as AS Michelin, and changed its name in 1922 to AS Montferrandaise. Changing to the current name in 2004. They are still called Montferrand in some circles.
They play their home games in the 13,000 capacity Parc des Sports Marcel Michelin in the Town of Clermont-Ferrand from the Auvergne region of France. The region is not a hotbed of rugby but the club does have a fervent band of supporters for the home games.
