The USA leg of the iRB HSBC Sevens World Series Day Two in Las Vegas and we have reached the Semi-Finals.
The last of the pool games and both England and Kenya continued to suffer a backlash from Wellington losing their final pool games. The USA as we predicted beat Spain and so progressed into the Cup quarters, unfortunately they met Fiji who won a tight contest to meet New Zealand in the semis. Canada the other surprise package met New Zealand in the quarters and went down a creditable 17-0 to the Kiwis who look favourites to recover from last weekend blip.

Day three and Portugal and Kenya should be strong enough to win through to the plate final. Argentina and England for the Bowl, though England will have to pull out a strong display. The Plate should produce a couple of great semi’s, USA just pipping Canada for a home final in the Plate and Scotland a narrow win over Wales to keep their improvements on track. The Cup and we cannot see New Zealand letting it slip this week against a much improved Fiji, in the other semi Samoa will be to strong for South Africa.
