Wigan stand-off Sam Tomkins has been added to the England training squad for the end-of-season internationals. The 20-year-old Super League Young Player of the Year is joined by club captain Sean O’Loughlin in what is now a 22-man squad.
England are set to play against Wales on 17 October and in the Four Nations series involving France, Australia and New Zealand in October and November.
A final 24-man squad will be named by coach Tony Smith on Monday 12 October. Players from Leeds and St Helens, both playing in the Grand Final on Saturday 10 October, are expected to be added to the initial squad before Smith names his final list two days after the Wembley showpiece.
