Western Force joined the Super 14's for the inaugural season as one of the new franchises brining the Australian contingent up to 4. They struggled to adapt in their first season with many close run games winning 1 and drawing 2 as they finished bottom of the league.

Based in Perth Western Australia they have brought the super series to the area for the first time. The Force play their home games in the 53,500 seater Subiaco Oval, Subiaco Road, Subiaco, Perth WA 6008. The stadium has been home to the local Australian Rules Football team since the early 1900's.
