Allan Jacobsen who has won 22 caps for Scotland is out for the rest of the World Cup. The prop was injured in the 56-10 victory over Portugal in St Etienne. The Edinburgh forward was stretchered off with a torn calf muscle, a reoccurrence of a previous injury and Scotland have today confirmed that he will miss the rest of the tournament.
Gloucester prop Alasdair Dickinson has been called up by Scotland as Jacobsen’s replacement. Dickinson, who turns 24 on Tuesday, is yet to win a full cap for Scotland.
