The Newcastle Knights are an Australian professional rugby league football team formed in 1988 and based in Newcastle, New South Wales. They compete in Australasia's premier rugby league competition, the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership. The Knights play their home games in the 26,100 capacity Energy Australia Stadium, Turton Rd New Lambton NSW.

From 1997-2003, the Knights reached seven finals series in a row, winning in 1997 and 2001. Though they did finish on the same number of wins but lose out to the Brisbane Broncos on points difference in 1998.
