It was not the walk over many predicted, but Australia still ran out comfortable winners against Papua new Guinea.Two tries apiece from débutante David Williams and Joel Monaghan gave the world champions a 22-0 half-time lead. The second period and more of the same as the Aussies stretched away. However Menzie Yere was able to cross for PNG and give the fans something to cheer as Australia ran out winners:
