Lions wing Ugo Monye will replace Shane Williams in the team to play the Southern Kings later with the Welshman missing out through illness.
Williams, who has a stomach bug, has been switched to the bench and is now unlikely to make Saturday’s first Test.
Monye is tipped to start against South Africa and could cement his place with a decent performance, with the Lions looking for their sixth tour victory. Munster lock Donncha O’Callaghan leads the side against the Kings. Ireland centre Gordon D’Arcy will make his first tour start alongside Riki Flutey of England. Luke Fitzgerald and Wales’s Williams were originally named to play on the wing with Ireland’s Tommy Bowe placed on standby.
Ireland’s Keith Earls, who has so far played at centre, starts at full-back. Mike Blair has been named at scrum-half but faces a fitness test on the ankle injury which forced him to pull out of the squad for Saturday’s victory.
