Leeds were looking in deep trouble as they succumbed to three tries from Hull through Willie Manu, Graeme Horne and Danny Tickle with Danny Tickle making all the conversions. Keith Senior posting the only points for a lacklustre Rhinos. Thus giving Hull a lead at half time of 4-18.
The second half and Rhinos were a team transformed as they blasted back into contention with tries through Scott Donald, Rob Burrow and Gareth Ellis and the conversion by Sinfield levelling the scores. Hull retook the lead through a Tickle goal but Rhinos then closed the game out with further tries to Burrow, Donald and Ellis. Sinfield goaled 4 of these and his 10 points takes him to 1,885 and second in the all time list for Leeds. Tickle managed a further goal for Hull but it was all over and so Leeds march on with the final score of:
