The Manly Sea Eagles have ditched their traditional maroon and white jerseys for this weekend’s clash against the Bulldogs, choosing a camouflage design in recognition of Australia’s Defence Forces.
The jersey, manufactured by ISC, features traditional camouflage patterns in varying shades of khaki and brown, and will be worn on just the one occasion during their Friday night match at ANZ Stadium.
As if the natural rivalry between two of Sydney’s oldest organisations isn’t enough, the fact that the Bulldogs are coached by former Manly player and coach, Des Hasler, adds even more spice to an encounter which is traditionally feisty.
The Canberra Raiders will also wear a unique jersey to commemorate ANZAC day this weekend, while the Dragons’ jersey for their mid-week clash against the Rooster on Wednesday also paid tribute to the countries’ armed services.
