Australia launched their new style shirt for their game against South Africa in the tri-nations. The new shirt is the same style as their Rugby World Cup (RWC) 2007 shirt will be, so they have stolen a march on all the other nations by wearing it before the RWC.

The RWC shirt is manufactured by Canterbury and has subtle changes from the old style whilst retaining the national colours, green and gold. The new shirt has lines across the front in the same style as the Springboks RWC shirt and the other new feature is the pale yellow patches across the chest and over the shoulders. The IRB logo is on the right chest, with the coat of arms on the left. Unlike others there is no national flag, but the right sleeve sports the national stars which appear on the right chest on the shirt worn on Saturday for the first time.
