Dragons Jersey

The Dragons wear all Black kit for their home games and change to white shirts for away games. The strip with its New Zealand heritage has not produced the quality and consistency seen in the southern hemisphere and the shirt has not been pulled on by many notable players with the exception of: Mike Hercus, Michael Owen, Steve Jones, Jamie Ringer, Ceri Sweeney and Colin Charvis.

Newport Gwent Dragons were formed in 2003 they officially represent southeast Wales, and includes well-known club sides such as Pontypool RFC, Newbridge RFC and Abertillery RFC as suppliers to the fan base. The club struggles to compete with the big boys in Welsh rugby and at the end of the 2005-6 season missed the Heineken cup qualification by losing to the Italian side Overmach Parma in the play-offs.

The Dragons play their home games at the 11,700 capacity Rodney Parade, Newport, Gwent NP19 0UU. The ground has seen some mighty scalps taken but the region struggles for consistancy and with the jinx of frequent injuries to their key players do not expect to see things improve in the years to come.
