Super League XVIII Play-Offs Week Two Produces no surprises apart form the size of the Giants win.
Thursday night and we travelled to Huddersfield to see the Giants take on Hull FC. We always had this down as a home win and I guess that given how their season has been going it was no surprise that they pulled out a massive win 76-18. The first half and nine tries were dotted down with a further four in the second. Every one had been writing the side out following the defeat to Wigan Warriors, but the Giants showed they are of sterner stuff. With the score at 54-6 they had done more than enough with the first half.
Friday night and back to the type of contest we expected as Leeds Rhinos ran out 11-10 winners. This was 4-0 at the break and a tight nail biting affair until the final whistle. The young Saints side will feel they let it slip, but a drop goal in the dying minute did for them and that after they had levelled things at 10-10 with nine minutes to go and them exerting pressure. So bring on week three!
