Round Twenty Two of the Aviva Premiership and all home wins as London Welsh
sign off with a win against Worcester Warriors 33-22. So the Warriors loss was our one wrong call the rest of the weekend going to plan. This means we now have Saracens v Northampton Saints and Leicester Tigers v Harlequins in the semi-finals next weekend.
All the fixtures this weekend kicked off on Saturday and all at 14:30. So first up and Exeter Chiefs Gloucester was a feast of running rugby. Pleased to see it in front of a full house great it was tight to the final whistle and justifiably went to the home side 40-39, having been 25-22 at the break. next up and Harlequins Northampton Saints was a close call 22-19. Almost 15,000 watched in the sun as Quins squeezed out to 10-5 at the break as Myler missed a couple of chances for Saints. The second period and although the home side had chances to extend they squandered them allowing saints to stay in it until the final whistle. So to Tigers and another day a the office, though London irish did push them at times. Final score here was a flattering 32-20. Though it had been 13-3 at half-time. Another24,000 crowd had plenty to cheer. So to the surprise or maybe not as London Welsh playing some great rugby put Worcester Warriors to the sword at the Kassam Stadium in front of a good crowd of 3,600. It was 17-3 here at the break and the bonus point win never looked in doubt as Warriors were outplayed across the park for Welsh to run out 33-22 at the final whistle on the Premiership for now. Sale Sharks next and they had a tight win against London Wasps 21-20. The home side had eased out to 12-7 at the break, but as usual Christian Wade had an influence on the final score with a brace of tries. Sale however hung on for the win to end their season with a good run of victories. last to Saracens and Bath made them work hard for this victory of 23-14. 9,998 fans were squeezed in to see Sarries go in at 13-7 at the break and it stayed close but in control until the final whistle.
So one wrong call this week. Here are all the results:
