Round Fourteen of the Premiership threw up loads of surprises. First up Saints lost at home to Gloucester, then Irish did for Saracens. Followed by Wasps winning at the Stoop, though they were helped by Nick Evans having an off day with the boot.
The weekend opened at a cracking pace with Sale Sharks hosting the Exeter Chiefs and winning 21-16, thus turning round a 5-13 half time deficit and early in the second period 5-16. The highlight was also Mark Cueto getting his 76th try.
The rest of the games were played on Saturday and the early kick-off was the demolition of Northampton Sainst by Gloucester at Franklins Gardens. Both sides were missing stars, but Gloucester always looked in control of this one going from 6-17 at half time to the final score of 11-27 and for a while fourth in the table. next up and Bath continued from last week, this time destroying Worcester Warriors 32-9. It was still all to play for at 13-9 at the break, but in the second half Bath upped it a gear and were very worthy winners. Leicester Tigers had a good day at the office for young 10 George Ford, who had two conversions and three penalties in his sides win 28-12. This was 16-3 at the break. London Irish needed a win and how pleased they will be with the manner of it as their young outfit saw of Saracens at the Madejski Stadium 29-16. Thus closing the gap on London Welsh to one point. Finally we had the evening kick-off and London Wasps spoiling the record of Harlequins with the win 16-17. This was 13-14 at the break and although the scores do not show it it was a humdinger of a match.
So a few wrong calls as Saints, Saracens and Harlequins all went down. Here are all the results:
