Agustin Pichot will captain the 30-man Pumas squad, which has been announced as one of the first final squads. Not surprisingly Leinster fly-half Felipe Contepomi and Stade Francais full-back Juan Martin Hernandez are also named, the surprise names are Horacio Agulla and Federico Serra who were not in the original 41 preliminary squad named at the beginning of July. Pichot, who will be 33 next month, is the sole surviving member of the Argentina squad that went to South Africa for RWC’95.
The Pumas are in Pool D alongside France, Ireland, Georgia and Namibia and will kick off the tournament against the hosts on September 7.
