Super League XVIII Round Six A funny weekend with two draws not helping our cause as we get four calls wrong.
Five games on Friday night all kicking off at 20:00. First for us was Hull FC giving Castleford a drubbing 52-0. It was already 22-0 by half-time and the misery just continued in the second period. Next our first wrong call as Leeds Rhinos went down to Huddersfied Giants in the poring rain
and at home 8-32. Rhinos were still in it at the break at 2-8, but twenty four points to six saw the Giants safely home. So to Warrington Wolves and and important loss to St. Helens another wrong call for us. This ended 10-22 and pushed Wolves down to 4th in the table. Saints already had control at the break with a ten point lead at 4-14. We had the first of the draws next as Bradford Bulls could not secure the away win at Widnes Vikings. This one ended 22-22. Though Bulls will be kicking themselves as they led 4-20 at the break and looked to be coasting home especially with the home side down to twelve men. However it was Vikings who touched down three times in the second period to show great spirit and fight. Last up on Friday night and Wigan Warriors cemented their second spot on the log with a convincing win at home to Catalans Dragons 38-0. It was already 18-0 by the break and the French outfit just had no answer to the power and skill from Warriors.
Saturday and just the one game in the evening as London Broncos hosted Hull Kingston Rovers and got a lesson in running rugby, going down by 22-42. Full marks to the London outfit as Hull KR were out of sight at the break 6-30 so the home side clocked up sixteen points to the visitors twelve in the second period.
Last up on Sunday afternoon we had our second draw and another wrong call for us as Wakefield Wildcats and Salford City Reds ended at 23-23. This stayed close throughout and was 14-18 at the break. This moves Reds off the bottom with three points to Broncos two.
So four wrong calls this week, no total disaster as two were draws. Here now are all the results:
