St Helens booked a third successive Grand Final against Leeds Rhinos with a hard-fought semi-final win over Wigan. Francis Meli scored early on for Saints but Kyle Eastmond failed with the conversion in windy conditions. George Carmont then put Wigan ahead with a converted try only for Sean Long to score giving Saints a 10-6 half time lead.
The second period remained tight and Meli scored again for Saints before Pat Richards went over for Wigan but the Warriors were unable to further breach the resolute Saints defence leaving us with the final score of:
