2011/12 Season Prediction for Saracens Rugby
Saracens had arguably their best season in 2010/11 as they won the Aviva Premiership. However it did not always look that promising as they has earlier crashed out of the Heineken Cup finishing bottom of their pool. The exit from the Heineken may have been just what they needed as mid-season they went away for a team bonding session which saw them put together a strong run to the final, beating Gloucester in a tight semi-final and then Leicester to claim their first title.
Saracens have kept most of the top players and even bought in some further stars and this coupled with their work ethic and rotation policy make them strong contenders to retain the title. They will have a slow start with players away at the Rugby World Cup, but they have enough strength in depth to hold most contenders. We will go for them to finish 1st, giving them a proud record of finishing 1st or 2nd over three seasons.
Saracens are in Pool ‘5’ of the Heineken Cup, along with Benetton Treviso, Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque and Ospreys. Possibly one of the easier pools to escape so this season we see them reaching the later stages of the competition and with their powerful squad reaching the semi-finals.
