Scotland’s World Cup campaign finished on a losing note after a heavy defeat to Tonga in their ranking play-off. Scotland had nothing left to offer against the powerful Tongans and in the heat wilted away to a half-time score of 0-24. The second half and Scotland had their chances but were unable to convert, there was no doubt that Danny Brough was a big miss. Tonga certainly made better use of the ball and even with errors easily extended their lead to the final score of:
