The Scotland Rugby League administers Scotland and the team draws heavily from the super league. Scotland also field an 'A' team called the Bravehearts which draws from the sides in the Scottish domestic competition league.

Scotland were ranked 11 in the RLIF World rankings coming into the 2008 World Cup which they qualified for through a points difference aggregate win against Wales. This will see them in Australia in October 2008 in pool 2 along with France and Fiji.
