Shepherd to join Wallabies squad

Cameron Shepherd from Western Force in Perth Australia has been called in to replace Mark Gerrard for the rest of the World Cup. He is due to arrive on Thursday going to Cardiff in time for the game against Wales on Saturday. The 23-year-old, who can play on the wing or at full-back, has played in five Tests for Australia

Gerrard, 25, will return to Australia this week after rupturing his knee in Saturday’s 91-3 win over Japan in Lyon. Gerrard had been on the field for less than a minute against Japan when the injury occurred. The prognosis at the moment is he will not have an operation but will wear a brace for the next 6/8 weeks.
