The St.George Illawarra Dragons are an Australian professional rugby league football team, with roots back into the 1940's, but officially formed in 1998 as a joint venture by the St. George Dragons and the Illawarra Steelers. They are the only team in the history of the NRL that has regularly played their home matches in two cities Sydney and Wollongong and their stadiums are the 20,500 capacity Oki Jubilee Stadium, 124 Princes Highway, Kogarah, NSW, and the 20,000 capacity Win Stadium, Wollongong, New South Wales.

The Club had an amazing start to their playing as they reached the grand final of the Premiership in 1999, losing to Melbourne Storm. They have yet to repeat this, though as the St George Dragons they managed to win First Grade Premierships in 1941, 1949, 1956 - 1966, 1977 and 1979, as well as being runners up in 1927, 1930, 1933, 1942, 1946, 1953, 1971, 1974, 1985, 1992, 1993 and 1996.
