Super League XVIII ended with a thrilling final at Old Trafford. Wigan Warriors claimed the crown, against our predictions and given Warrington Wolves performance through the season we can be excused for tipping them. So Wigan Warriors are the League and Cup Champions for 2013.
The final was full of the good and bad of rugby league and the first half was dominated by Warrington Wolves who went in thge the break 16-6 to the good. The second period however it all unraveled for the League runners up. They could not add to their half-time score, whilst Wigan Warriors put on twenty four points.
The result shows that it is not necessarily how you perform over the season but what you do on the day. You do of course have to be in contention to compete for the ultimate prize.
So another season ends with some cracking games and now we wait for the excitement of the Rugby League World Cup 2013. Which will be played out from the opening game Australia versus England on Saturday 26 October at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, until the final on Saturday 30 November at Old Trafford Stadium Manchester.
