The Italy coach Pierre Berbizier has made six changes following his team’s 76-14 defeat to New Zealand on Saturday. The main changes come at fly and scrum half. Ramiro Pez and Paul Griffen replace Roland de Maringy and Alessandro Troncon, who move to the bench.
There are six changes for their match with Romania at the Stade Velodrome on Wednesday. Gonzalo Canale starts in the centres, where he will partner Mirco Bergamasco. In the pack, Carlo Festuccia is given his first start of the tournament at hooker, while Andrea Lo Cicero, who came on as substitute against New Zealand, replaces Salvatore Perugini at prop.
