Well, no surprise there then as the Wolves did a pack job on the Saints (St Helens 18-36 Warrington) to book their place in the Grand Final against Leeds Rhinos who had a much tougher task in beating Wigan Warriors 13-12.
Leeds Rhinos road to the final follows last years path and who would bet against them taking back to back wins, though they must overcome the team who beat them 35-18 in the Challenge Cup final on 25 August. On Friday night they had a real tussle with Wigan who scored two tries to one but were undone by the boot of Kevin Sinfield with 9 points of the Leeds 13 total. Warriors were 0-11 at the break and although they scored 12 points to take the lead a late Sinfield penalty denied them a place in the final.
Saturday and things were a lot more straightforward as Warrington Wolves put on a powerful second period to turn round a half-time deficit of 18-12 to run away to 18-36. Wolves had been 14-6 behind at one time but this team has a belief and also still wanted to be in with a chance on the double. There is no doubt we will be in for a cracking final with two teams who should provide fireworks all over the park.
