The Tigers play their home games in black jerseys with orange and white stripes on the sides of the torso, featuring the Proton Cars name from their main sponsors. The shirt has been pulled on by names in the game such as: Mark O'Neill, John Skandalis, Scott Prince and Benji Marshall.
Wests Tigers is a professional rugby league football club in the National Rugby League (NRL), the premier rugby league competition in Australasia. The Tigers who were formed in 2000 from the merging of the Balmain Tigers and the Western Suburbs Magpies. Wests Tigers play their home games in one of four grounds, either the 21,000 capacity Campbelltown Stadium, or the 23,000 capacity Leichhardt Oval, 83,500 capacity Telstra Stadium or 44,000 capacity Sydney Cricket Ground.
The Tigers won the premiership in 2005 and to date are the only team that has never lost a finals match. Though this is the Wests Tigers' only NRL premiership to date, the club has a heritage of eleven premierships won by Balmain and four by Western Suburbs. The club also won the World Club Sevens in 2004. However, when the clubs' individual histories are considered, the Wests Tigers have the second most successful history. They have a combined tally of 16 premierships.
