Warriors fell to their third defeat of the season as the Tigers put more pressure on Brian Noble and worse the home side were booed form the pitch at the final whistle.
It all started so well as Thomas Leuluai put Wigan in front with a try on 25 minutes before two scores in two minutes from Joe Westerman and Brett Ferres put the visitors 16-6 in front, this score held at the break. Wigan debutant Karl Pryce touched down after the break but Tigers extended their lead thanks to Ferres and Kirk Dixon. Tries from Darrell Goulding, Joel Tomkins and Shaun Ainscough saw Wigan hit back before a Michael Shenton try. The home side missed conversion attempts, with Australians Amos Roberts and Mark Riddell landing just one kick between them from five attempts, and this proved the difference with the final score of:
Wigan 22-28 Castleford
