Scottish outfit Edinburgh have officially launched their new home and alternate jerseys for the 2015-16 season.
On the back of the 2014-15 jerseys, the new home and alternate jerseys for Edinburgh are somewhat “different”. Hooped home jerseys has always been the norm for Edinburgh and again they have used that trademark design in one of the most unique ways possible; chainmail. Yes you heard me right, chainmail and red hoops complete the front and back panels of the jersey for design never seen before. Who’s a fan? I’m not sure many will be.
The new design is somewhat of a copy for New Zealand side the Canterbury Crusaders home jersey last season which used an entire chainmail print design. Black sleeves and collar complete the new home jersey while BT Sport’s sponsor logo fits nicely between the hoops. There are a few words that spring to mind when describing this new home jersey and they certainly aren’t classy, elegant or stylish.
So it’s hard to imagine a worse kit than the home design but there is and it comes in the form of the Edinburgh Alternate Jersey pictured below. Okay Camo designs are kind of cool, but seriously? The new alternate jersey takes a bold approach boasting a white, black and red Camo design throughout the entire jersey, who are they trying to hide from?
Using the same template design as the home jersey the new alternate jersey is one of the most unique so far by any club side in Europe for the 2015-16 season.
