Canterbury and England have launched the new Rugby Strip for the upcoming 2013/14 season. The new shirt will be blooded against Australia on 2 November at 14:30 in the Twickenham Stadium in the first of the QBE Autumn Internationals. They will carry on into the Six Nations 2014.

The shirt is said to combine the heritage and traditions of Rugby in England and Canterbury has included midnight blue detailing in the cuffs, with the ever present red rose on the chest. The colour combination is back to re, white and blue. and offers home white shirts, white shorts and midnight blue socks.
The test version in manufactured using Canterbury high performance fabric which gives optimum strength and moisture management but retaining the lightweight and comfortable feel. It also stretches supposedly allowing players to evade tackles without restricting movement. It has the Canterbury signature loop 21 neckline and triple-bar tacks to increase the strength of the shirts vulnerable areas so reducing the likely-hood of rips and tears. The ball-deadening area has an arrangement tone on tone hooped stripes. This is enhanced on the change strip.
At the launch Stuart Lancaster the England Head Coach said “Putting on an England shirt is a huge source of pride for the players and the white shirt is a critical part of England’s identity as well as our history and heritage. The latest iteration of the England Rugby Strip is manufactured by Canterbury and incorporates all the latest updates and thinking from their boffins. Made from 93% polyester and 7% elastane the test shirt offered to the public is the same as that worn by the players. Canterbury and England have stayed with the all white design, with the addition of navy blue bands to the sleeves and the St George’s Cross is on the back of the neck. As ever the Red Rose adorns the left chest and the Canterbury logo the right. Main sponsor O2 is on the chest.
