The iRB Junior World Championships 2013 are in France during June. The first game kicking-off on the 5th June and the final on the 23rd June.
What a brilliant round of semi-finals and we called three wrong as France scraped past Ireland and both England and Wales beat the Southern Hemisphere big guns New Zealand and South Africa respectively. Wales did it with a try and conversion with just a minute or so to go and England hung on with brilliant defence and flair in attack against a committed baby Blacks. The rest of the results went much as expected and here they all are:
Results Semi-Finals
9th Place Semi Final 18 Jun, 18:00 Samoa 19-18 Fiji Stade Pascal Laporte, Nantes
9th Place Semi Final 18 Jun, 20:15 Scotland 39-3 USA Stade Pascal Laporte, Nantes
5th Place Semi Final 18 Jun, 18:00 Argentina 22-15 Australia Stade Henri Desgrange, La Roche-sur-Yon
5th Place Semi Final 18 Jun, 20:15 Ireland 8-9 France Stade Henri Desgrange, La Roche-sur-Yon
Semi Finals 18 Jun, 18:15 South Africa 17-18 Wales Stade de la Rabine, Vannes
Semi Finals 18 Jun, 20:45 New Zealand 21-33 England Stade de la Rabine, Vannes
So the final should be a massive clash and we will go for England to beat their old rivals. In the third place play-off New Zealand will want and get payback for last years loss in South Africa. The other match’s are tough to call but we have gone with Fiji although it would be nice for the USA to get one win and not return immediately to the second tier competition. Samoa should be to strong for Scotland and Ireland Australia though that was a tough call. We do not feel France can put two big games together and Argentina will be looking for a big win to end on a high.
