Waikato Chiefs have new strip for the 2014 Super 15 Rugby Season. The strip comes in distinctive home and alternate versions.
The Franchise has strong roots with the local Maori’s from the central North Island and for this offering teamed up with artist Dave Burke with Luke Crawford and Wally Rifle to produce both the home and alternate jersey. First up is the home:
The Alternate Jersey is much the same as the Home, except being in white and yellow as can be seen here:

Made by adidas, from the Waikato Chiefs the 100% polyester Rugby Shirt has been released for the latest up and coming Super Rugby season and is a replica of the version as worn by the players. The design on both home and alternate is centred around three main themes, these are defined as Kotiate (central shape outlined in black) are hand-held clubs used by chiefs in warfare, Awa (flowing yellow kowhaiwhai) are waterways which when combined into a single centralised flow become unstoppable and Ara Poutama (red application) is the stairway to success urging players toward continued development and growth. In a copy of their home offering, white takes the place of black for a fresh new look which still pays honour to the proud Waikato culture.
With adidas Climalite ingrained into the fabric, this acts as ventilation and moisture management for your body so that you can stay dry and keep your cool, both on and off the stands or field. Both home and away Jerseys feature the BNZ logo on the chest, with adidas logo on the right and the Chiefs on the left.
